‘American Idol’ Season 20 Finale: How to Watch? Who is happening? What songs are performed?


The landmark season 20 finale of american idol is upon us! The three-hour, star-studded Season 20 finale of American Idol will air live coast-to-coast Sunday, May 22 at 8/7c on ABC.

Top 3 finalists Noah Thompson, HunterGirl and Leah Marlene will present their debut singles and cover Bruce Springsteen hits, competing for American votes one last time in hopes of being crowned the next American Idol and winning a record deal with Hollywood Records/19 records.

Idol judges Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan will also perform alongside current Idol finalists and alumni. Richie will join the Top 10 for a collaborative performance, Perry will sing “Firework” with Marlene and Bryan will perform a cover of Randy Travis’ “I Told You So” with HunterGirl. Meanwhile, Thompson will perform “I’m The Only One” alongside Melissa Etheridge.

In addition to Thompson, HunterGirl and Marlene, several other Season 20 contestants will return to the Idol stage for star-studded duets, including Mike Parker, Christian Guardino, Jay Copeland, Nicolina Bozzo, Fritz Hager, Emyrson Flora, Lady K and Suite.

The American Idol season finale will also feature a star-studded list of performances from Idol Season 4 winner Carrie Underwood and Idol alum Gabby Barrett, as well as superstars James Arthur, Sara Bareilles, Michael Bublé, Deana Carter , Earth, Wind & Fire, Melissa Etheridge, Flo Rida, Ben Platt, Thomas Rhett, Tai Verdes and many more.
