United Way of Midland and other community partners came together last week to honor the hard work of the men and women of schools in Midland County.
The annual event, sponsored and underwritten by local foundations and businesses, recognizes area educators and support staff who go above and beyond in local classrooms and campuses. Awards included Elementary School Teacher of the Year, High School Teacher of the Year, Unsung Hero, Rookie Teacher of the Year, Veteran Teacher of the Year and Campus year.
“This is one of those nights where we come to celebrate and honor the teachers, administrators and staff of schools across Midland County – across MISD, Greenwood ISD and our private schools,” said Emily Holeva, President of the Excellence in Education Awards 2022.
IDEA Travis Elementary, Houston Collegiate Prep, Midland Christian and St. Ann’s were among the schools that did not submit nominations, according to event organizers.
