First Christian Church offers free community meal on Fridays – BG Independent News

The First Christian Church of Bowling Green, 875 Haskins Road, will serve its monthly community drive-thru meal on Friday, March 11 from 5-6 p.m. As part of FCC’s food mission, this community meal is free and available to anyone who needs a meal.

This month’s menu includes ground beef, mashed potatoes, green beans, fruit cup and cookies.

In addition to the meal, two bags of food will be distributed, provided by St. Thomas More University Parish and the BG Christian Food Pantry. Attendees are also offered a variety of breads and pastries provided by the Bowling Green Christian Food Pantry.

Volunteers from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints provide assistance at the event, including distributing food bags and bread/pastries.

This month, a toilet pantry will be available through the generosity of the First Presbyterian Church.

All are welcome and there is no charge for meals, food bags or breads and pastries.

It’s easy to participate in the minimal contact dinner. Participants must arrive between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. at the church parking lot and stay in their car. Volunteers will take their orders, hand-deliver meals, and direct them to bread and pastries. COVID precautions should be followed, especially for those who have not received the vaccine.
