From staff reports
Journey Christian Church has canceled its Sunday services at its Apopka and Lake County campuses due to an outbreak of COVID-19 among its members and staff, according to a statement posted on its Facebook page. Journey is one of the largest churches in Apopka.
According to the publication, COVID-19 has struck several of its families and staff on both campuses and in several departments. Staff, members and volunteers affected by COVID are strategic to perform weekend services, the post said.
“We want to let you know that we will be canceling all in-person worship services for this Sunday, July 11 at our Apopka and Lake County campuses. Additionally, there will be no student ministry meeting for our college students on Sunday. evening .”
It also remained open when Sunday services resumed.
“We realize that another week of cancellation of services is not ideal. It is difficult and disappointing. However, we believe it is the wisest and most loving thing to do for our community and for our church family. Please join me in praying for full recovery for all who are sick and that we will be back sooner rather than later. At the moment, we anticipate this will be a week to week decision. Please stay tuned next week on social media and our website for an update for upcoming in-person worship services. “
For Sunday July 11, the Journey service will be online.
“Join us online this Sunday as we continue our series titled Awaken, How to Revive Your Spiritual Life. Be careful and see you soon!”
The post also included a video statement from Senior Associate Pastor Dustin Aagaard.
