Does Kanye West’s new album Jesus is king count as a hip-hop record, a Christian release, or something in between? The answer is … all. Hip-hop, Christian, and gospel aren’t mutually exclusive genres, and the top of the charts conquered many of those specific style lists this week, and on the Christian-only chart, the musician between in history with unprecedented domination.

West currently occupies the entire top 10 of the Hot Christian Songs chart with songs from his new album, occupying more place at a time than anyone in tallying history. According to Billboard, several acts (such as genre favorites Chris Tomlin, MercyMe and Casting Crowns) have already claimed a trio of positions within the highest level, but none have managed to accomplish what the rapper has achieved in that setting.

“Follow God” led the way, which quickly established itself as the entire beloved track by fans, as none of the tracks had been pushed as a single before. Jesus is king arrived in full. The song is also the only track from the release to reach the Top 10 on the Hot 100.

West’s flood of immediate success cut short Lauren Daigle’s historic run to the top of the standings. His single “You Say” spent 66 weeks at No. 1, but that frame he went down to No. 11, pushed out of No. 1 by almost the entire song list of Jesus is king.

The rapper’s new album features 11 songs, so while it’s obviously no surprise that he doesn’t send the entire collection to the top of the list, one track is nowhere to be found. The opening track “Every Hour”, which features West’s Sunday Service Choir, is nowhere in the charts, meaning it fails to land an entire album’s worth of a one hit by one piece.

Below is a ranking of West’s top 10 songs on the Hot Christian Songs chart this week.
