The New Earth Christian Church (TNECC) will be hosting a “Seven Last Words” service on Good Friday April 2 at noon via Zoom, Pastor Larry Dozier announced.
“During the season of resurrection (Easter), many places of worship hold services to commemorate Jesus’ last seven words on the cross. It’s actually seven sentences, but normally called the last seven words, ”he said.
“The service typically includes seven speakers, often pastors or church leaders, who elaborate for 7-10 minutes on the comments Jesus made while hanging on the cross.”
The featured speakers of the TNECC service are:
THE FIRST WORD – “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” – Luke 23:34 – Reverend Cassandra Mmabatho Hawkins – Los Angeles / South Africa
THE SECOND WORD – “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in Heaven.” – Luke 23:43 – Minister Raymond Kimbro, Atlanta
THE THIRD WORD – “Jesus said to his mother, ‘Woman, this is your son.’ Then he said to the disciple, ‘She is your mother.’ “- John 19: 26-27 – Reverend Joel Hortiales, Los Angeles
