Taylor Swift surprises fans with 7 more songs from Midnights “3am Tracks”

Just hours after releasing her 10th studio album at the stroke of midnight on October 21, the 32-year-old singer announced the additional tracks at 3 a.m.

“Surprise!” Swift wrote on Instagram. “I think about Midnights as a full concept album, with these 13 songs forming a complete picture of the intensities of this mystifying and crazy hour. However! There were other songs we wrote on our journey to find that magic 13. I call them 3am tracks. Lately, I’ve loved the feeling of sharing more of our creative process with you, like we do with the tracks on From The Vault. So it’s 3 a.m. and I’m giving them to you now.”

The songs, which are part of Midnight (3am edition)– include “The Great War”, “Bigger than all the sky”, “Paris”, “Great infidelity”, “Glitch”, “Would have, could have, should have” and “Dear reader”.

“What keeps you up at night?” Swift added on Instagram. “It’s a momentary flicker of distraction. The tiniest hint of reminiscent thought that wanders into wonder, the spark that ignites a tinderbox of fixation. And now it’s irreversible. The flame has spread .You are wide awake.”

The 11-time Grammy winner previously teased there would be a “very chaotic surprise special” at 3am. However, fans still had no idea what to expect and reacted to the drop on Twitter.

“TAYLOR ALLISON SWIFT WHAT DO YOU WANT 7 MORE SONGS?!?!??!?!” a social media user tweeted. Added another one, “7 MORE SONGS I REALLY SCREAM #midnighTSnosleepover.” Stunned in a third“I listen to 7 more songs at midnight knowing full well I have to be up for work in 3 hours #MeetMeAtMidnight #MidnightsTaylorSwift #TSmidnighTS.”

But it was not the last outing of the day. Swift – who had dropped hints and ideas about the album since the announcement Midnights at the 2022 MTV VMAs in August – also premiered the music video for his song “Anti-Hero” at 8 a.m. EST. The lyric videos are also set to debut at 8 p.m. EST. And a few days later, the excitement will pick up when the musician begins her second Midnights music video at 12 p.m. EST on October 25.

Fans will definitely recognize a few familiar faces in the visuals. In an October 20 trailer for the videos, Swift announced that they would feature Laura Last, Alana Haim, Danielle Haim, Este Haim, Jack Antonoff, Pat McGrath, Dita Von Teese, John early, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Mike Birbiglia and Laith Ashley.

But these are not the only artists with whom she has worked. In a recent Instagram post, Swift paid tribute to her “co-pilot in this adventure” Antonoff and their collaborators. Zoe Kravitz, Lana Del Rey, Guillaume Bowery (a.k.a Joe Alwyn), sam dew, Sound wave, Sweet Jahaan, Keanu Beatssound engineer Laura Sisk and photographer Beth Garbrant.
