This week on american idol, The Top 3 have been revealed ahead of next week’s Season 20 grand finale, scheduled for Sunday, May 22. (Read our recap). At the end of the show, Ryan Seacrest talked about the celebrities to expect on the big night. Additionally, a press release announced the final themes: The Top 3–Noah Thompson, HunterGirl and Lea Marlene will perform songs by Bruce Springsteenin addition to the original songs they recorded last week.

American Idol: Leah Marlene Wrote ‘Flowers’ After Depression
American Idol: HunterGirl’s Emotional “Redbird” Hits No. 9 On iTunes

Each of the top 3 will hit the Idol stage in hopes of securing the American vote, including a dedicated round for “The Boss”, Bruce Springsteen. In the end, one winner will be crowned the next american idol.

In addition to the finalists, there will be stunning performances from the judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richieas well as the winner of season 4 and Idol Legend Carrie Underwood

Famous guest stars will appear in the finale!

Also look for the performances of the singer-songwriter, UK X Factor alum james arthur, Sara Bareillescountry star and season 16 alum Gabby Barrette, Michel Bublecountry legend Deana Carter70s funk icons Earth, Air and Fire, Melissa Etheridge, Florida, Ben Platt, Thomas Rhet, Tai Greens and more.

Gabby Barrette returns after framing the Top 14, and Carrie Underwood will appear on Idol two weeks in a row. This week as a mentor, and next week performing a song from his upcoming album, Jeans & Rhinestones. The singer also announced a major upcoming tour.

Michel Buble asked the Top 7 candidate Christian Guardian in duet with him on the final. Which famous artists do you think will partner with the contestants? I have a few theories (James Arthur with Fitz Hager, Deana Carter with HunterGirl. JUST Guesses!)

Also, it should be noted that over the years, Springsteen has not willy-nilly endorsed his songs for any singing show contestant. However, last year the rocker sold the rights to his entire catalog of songs to Sony Music Entertainment for $550 million and no longer controls the rights to his music. So, hello Bruce Springsteen week!
