A man who was believed to be under house arrest is facing charges, accused of stabbing a woman in a Louisville church parking lot. The attack took place on Tuesday afternoon outside the South East Christian Church’s South West Campus, which is on St. Andrews Road. Police say a video shows a man, believed to be Oscar Vasquez, approaching a woman from behind, grabbing her and then stabbing her with a knife. She told police she did not know the attacker. Police said she suffered neck and back injuries and had a punctured lung. Detective Charlie Roberts said officers were able to make a quick arrest with the help of church staff and witnesses. “We are grateful that some witnesses from the community stayed there and were able to provide us with first-hand accounts of what they witnessed and we were able to pass some of this information to our K-9 police unit,” said said Roberts. Police arrested Vasquez, 27, that day at a nearby mall. He is charged with attempted murder and assault. Police said he was supposed to be under house arrest on a criminal mischief charge. During his court appearance on Wednesday, a judge ordered $1 million in cash bail and no contact with the victim.
